Mission / Objectives

The mission is the empowerment of battered women and specialized support to
help them and their children find strength and minimize the trauma of abuse.

Key areas of work

• Service delivery: counselling, legal advice, shelter/refuge, referrals, etc.
• Prevention at the community-level: community education, mobilization,
  awareness raising, etc.,

• Provision of a place of safety for up to 21 days for women and their children.
• Counselling and spiritual support
• Support with court cases
• Relationship and family counselling
• Group counselling
• Follow up counselling after leaving the shelter
• Police assistance in the safe transport and protection of clients
• Opportunities for self - development (books, videos, games).
• Networking with stakeholders to assist clients
  

Key Lessons

 More GBV awareness is very necessary and should involve men.
