The International Centre for Research on Women (ICRW) recently announced their new Director of Gender, Violence and Rights, Stella Mukasa. Funding for Women Organizations and Groups in Sub-Saharan Africa
The NEPAD/Spanish Fund announces its second call for proposals. The Fund will provide grants to projects in sub-Saharan Africa aimed at enhancing the empowerment of women and gender equality. Eligible institutions include CSOs and CBOs, Ministries for Women and Gender machineries, African women’s agencies and networks, government ministries and research institutions. Akina Mama wa Afrika in collaboration with The Gender Consortium of Flinders University invites young women (between 25 - 45 years) to submit applications for an AusAID Australian Leadership Awards Fellowship Program that runs from September to December 2013 in Adelaide, Australia. 5th Africa Conference on Sexual Health and Rights 19th- 21st September, 2012
This conference will take place in Windhoek, Namibia and will take stock of responses to sexual health and rights on the continent since the International Conference on Population and Development (ICPD). It will also interrogate the status of sexual health and rights, with particular focus on women, girls, adolescents and youth. Abstract submissions are due on 30th June 2012.

6th Annual Award for Excellence in HIV/AIDS Communication in Africa
The African Network for Strategic Communication in Health and Development (AfriComNet) invites entries for the 2012 annual award for excellence in HIV and AIDS communication in Africa. Individuals and organizations implementing HIV and AIDS initiatives, campaigns, productions and tools that advance the field of strategic communication and that can be evaluated, adapted and applied elsewhere are eligible to apply. International Conference on AIDS and STIs in Africa (ICASA)
ICASA is Africa's largest conference on AIDS that brings together more than 10,000 participants to share and learn about successes, challenges and innovations in the prevention and control of AIDS and STIs.
