The Agency for Cooperation and Research in Development (ACORD) and the GBV Prevention Network organized a two-day meeting in Kampala to discuss issues of compensation and protection for GBV survivors in Eastern Africa. The goal of the consultative meeting was to build up a position for organizations in Eastern Africa prior to the Pan African Conference on Gender Based Violence.

The GBV Prevention Network member organizations from Burundi, Kenya, Rwanda, Tanzania and Uganda participated in the consultation.

During the Pan African Conference on GBV participants discussed ending impunity for GBV. The conference took place in Nairobi from 21st to 23rd July 2008. Read conference communiqué here.
