The aim of this group is to strengthen the capacity of GBV Prevention Network members to undertake research and M&E on GBV. Activities include participation in various trainings, collaboration on joint research projects, and sharing of existing research, newly-generated research and/or M&E frameworks.

To date the group has conducted the following activities:

• 2010 Training: Strengthening Skills in Researching VAW
• 2009 Training in Researching GBV
• 2009 GBV Research Initiative
• 2008 Training: Strengthening Skills for Research on VAW
• 2007 Training: Strengthening Skills for Research on GBV

This group will meet at the GBV Prevention Network’s AWID Forum Satellite Meeting and discuss the following:

• Activities achieved in the past two years
• The way forward in terms of proposal development and partnership, to promote further resource investment in research capacity development.
• Development of a research agenda for the region.
