Network’s 2008 Exchange Visit Program

Exchange Report 2008The GBV Prevention Network believes that learning should have no borders, so in 2008, the Exchange Visit Program was launched to connect active members with each other, so they can exchange experiences and promising practices. Member organizations can apply to visit another member organization of their choice, and to learn from them and from other member organizations in the same city.

In 2008, three members have been selected by the Leadership Committee to participate:

  • Hedwick Afandi from Coalition on Violence Against Women (COVAW) in Kenya will visit Forum for Activists Against Torture (FACT) in Rwanda.
  • Josia Elifas Helmut from White Ribbon Campaign in Namibia will visit Sonke Gender Justice Network in South Africa.
  • Peter Lwanga from Center for Domestic Violence Prevention (CEDOVIP) will visit Men for Gender Equality Now (MEGEN) in Kenya.

Each member and their selected host organization works with the coordinating office to create a detailed schedule to maximize learning during the exchange visit. In 2008, visits were conduced in November and December. After the visits, participants are to share their experiences with the rest of the members on this website. Check back in January to learn more!
