Nhimbe Trust Zimbabwe: An overview of the Choose Life tool kit. This kit aims to promote gender equality and to advocate for improvements in the availability and accessibility of care and treatment services on the part of resource-poor HIV-positive women in Gokwe South Rural District of Zimbabwe. The kit utilizes live interactive performances in an effort to create community awareness about the gender discrimination that affects access to treatment for many rural women. Southern Africa Media and Gender Institute (SAMGI): “What We Wear Won’t Stop Rape!” An activity report detailing SAMGI’s mini skirt march organized on the 7th December 2007 in support of all rape survivors. The march was drawn from a research conducted by Mijam van Heugten that discovered that some women were still asked what they were wearing, why they were there and how much they drank. Engender Health: “Sexual and Reproductive Health for HIV Positive Women and Adolescent Girls: A Manual for Trainers and Program Managers” 2006. This training manual provides information and a structure for a four day training and two day planning workshop. The training aims to enable program managers and health workers to provide comprehensive, nonjudgmental, and high-quality SRH care and support to HIV-positive women and adolescent girls. It was published by Straight Talk Foundation (STF), a non-governmental organization in Uganda specializing in health and development communication through radio, print, and community out-reach training, based on the importance of radio in Uganda as a tool for propelling communities into action. Sudanese Women’s Declaration on Darfur: From 24th to the 25th of January in 2008 the African Women’s Consultation on Darfur was held in Addis Ababa in Ethiopia. The consultation was coordinated by Femmes Africa Solidarité and one of the outcomes was the Sudanese Women’s Decelaration on Dafur.
