Embodying Our Activism is a four-part virtual learning series that invites activists, advocates, and changemakers to reflect on how we center our bodies (including mind, emotions, and sensations) while advancing gender justice. Through honest conversations and collective practice, the series explores what it means to nurture embodiment and strengthen our activism from within. Join us at the GBV Prevention Network and HaRT as we connect, learn, and grow together.

Since 1991, the 16 days of activism against Gender Based Violence campaign has taken place every year, starting on November 25th, on the day of Elimination of Violence Against Women, and ending on Human Rights Day on December 10th. The Centre for Women’s Global Leadership has coordinated this global event since it began in 1991. Since 2004 the GBV Prevention Network has been leading regional organizing with members through the Action and Advocacy Kits.
As we embark on the 2024 16 Days of Activism campaign, this year’s campaign focuses on the upcoming 30th anniversary of the Beijing Platform for Action (BPfA), which was adopted in 1995 at the Fourth World Conference on Women. BPfA is a landmark document in the history of global women’s rights, in which world leaders made a commitment to advancing the strategic objections and actions across 12 areas of concern, including Violence against Women Together, we stand united in our voices and present a powerful front as we push for investment, pushing back against the backlash.
